Four Texas-Related Books Are National Book Award Finalists

In addition to Ben Fountain’s Cowboy-game-Iraq-War novel, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, which was nominated for best fiction, the other Texas-related works are: the fourth volume in Robert Caro’s biography of Lyndon Johnson, The Passage of Power, for best nonfiction; also in that category, the debut work by Domingo Martinez, his memoir of growing up on the border in the ’80s, The Boys of Texas, and former Dallasite and SMU grad, Tim Siebles’ book of poetry, Fast Animal.
