Years ago, Pat Dwyer was assigned to be William Windom’s general dog’s body and stage manager, when Windom came to Brookhaven College to perform his one-man stage show based on the life and stories and cartoons of James Thurber. Dwyer was happy to do so because he’d long been a fan of the Emmy Award-winning actor’s sitcom, even his appearance on Star Trek (left). He didn’t know he’d get to play chess with him, though. Dwyer tells the story on his Facebook page.
