The Amon Carter Museum of American Art is currently hosting the exhibition called “American Vanguards: Graham, Davis, Gorky, de Kooning and Their Circle, 1927–1942.” The show explores the work of 20th century artist John Graham and his circle of New York artist friends. Together, these painters and sculptors forged the new genre of art that would become known as American Modernism. The exhibition displays more than 75 pieces from this period.
