Giveaway: Behind the Scenes – DSO Open Rehearsal

UPDATE: WE have not one, but two, winners! Congrats to Erin and Daniel and thanks so much to the DSO Guild for making two pairs of tickets available.

Ever wonder how a conductor prepares an orchestra to perform a large-scale work?  Here’s an opportunity to find out. Go behind the scenes when you watch Jaap van Zweden rehearsing the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for a performance of the Brahms German Requiem. It happens next Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.

“Open” rehearsal really isn’t: the general public is not invited and special vouchers are required. However, thanks to the DSO Guild, Art&Seek can hook you up.  We’ll draw a name from those who e-mail me at abothwell@kera.org the answer to this trivia question:

    My daughter is an opera singer. A recent grad from CCM. She has performed major lead roles.( Juliet and Rosalinda ) How does she get an audition for the DSO? David Davidson and Grant Williams worked with Haley. David selected her to play one of the leads in Hello Dolly at the Highland Park Church. Grant Williams,once a vocal coach for the Dallas Symphony Chorus accepted Haley as a student when she was 14y/o; She was his youngest student. Can you help me get an audition for Haley because she is an outstanding person and performer. I would like her living closer to home.
